Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa, Or Waikoloa Village?

I am planning my honeymoon for Dec. 3, but I can´t choose between the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa or the Hilton Waikoloa Village. These are my only 2 options available. If you have been to any or both, please help me! Thanks!

Take a look! Here is a map of the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki:http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=16&ll=…
The resort is located to the right of the Kahanamoku Lagoon and bordered by Ala Moana Blvd, Kalia Rd. and Paoa Pl.
Ft. De Russy not only surrounds you in (very rare) open space, but, also isolates you from Waikiki propper. The nearby boat harbor is very scenic, but adds less to your experience than most other harbors. You can see a large, sandy beach making the nearby Ala Moana beach and the rest of Waikiki beach redundant. You are located in the city, with all that implies.
Here is a map of the Hilton Waikoloa Village:http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=15&ll=…
The resort surrounds Waiulua Bay. Zoom in, and you can make out four large buildings, parking, tennis courts and pools. Many, many condos are built around the golf courses, adding nothing to your Honeymoon. The nearest “real” swimming beach is a half mile away at Anaehoomalu Bay near the Kuualii fishpond. Zoom out. Zoom out again. The nearest life outside a resort area is six miles uphill at the Waikoloa village where you can find a few restaurants and a grocery store. Waikoloa also offers swimming with dolphins, “water taxis,” and a monorail.
    Aloha!

    go with Hilton Waikoloa Village.

Hilton Hawaiian Village on Oahu will have access to more clubs and bars many of which you can walk to.
Waikoloa has about 5 bars in its confines but after that you probably have to drive. The only “nightlife” will be in Kona which is about 25 miles and a very dark highway away.
Me? On a honeymoon I would go to Waikoloa but if the two of you need nightlife, Oahu (Hawaiian Village) wins hands down.
From a beach perspective Waikoloa has a man made lagoon while Hawaiian has a natural beach and is walking distance to other sandy spots.

If you want peace and quiet I would recomment Waikoloa. If you need more excitement, I would go to the Hawaiian Village. There is much more to do on Oahu than the Big Island. Aloha!

The Hawaiian Village is on Waikiki beach which is really crowded and busy. If you’re looking for shopping and nightlife then the Hawaiian Village is what you want. If you’re looking for a romantic vacation, or like exploring then Waikoloa Village on the big island is the definite choice. Waikola is enormous and the grounds are beautiful. However, be prepared to spend a lot on food, and there aren’t many choices outside the resort unless you drive down to Kona. I disagree that there is not much to do on the big island. There are beautiful waterfalls and rain forests on the Hilo side, the volcano, Waipio valley, black sand beaches, etc…

The HHVillage is not right inside the heart of Waikiki, it’s on the “outside” of it; and it’s quite large. You would have to either walk/bus/cab to get into the busy part of Waikiki. It’s quite gorgeous but nothing compared to the Hilton Waikoloa on the Big Island. (see the web site for Waikoloa, pretty awesome: http://www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com/ind…
Oahu is crowded, busy, lots of party-ing, night clubs all over, it has its share of sights and places to visit, etc.
The Big Island is exactly that, big, and there are many places to visit, it’s just not as “exciting” as Oahu. It is basically “old hawaiiana” with no high-rises, hustle and bustle of the city. Waikoloa is booming though, and the resorts there are beautiful. The Big Island doesn’t have beaches to boast about, since its a very rocky coastline. Oahu has beaches you’d want to stay on forever.
It all comes down to what you want to do, aside from the honeymoon. I think you’d be happier at Waikoloa, everything you need is there, traveling to Kona is about 25 miles. Check out the Waikoloa website, it might change your whole perspective on what island to visit.

It really depends on what you both like to do. If you like to explore and experience nature from beautiful waterfalls to nice beaches (Hapuna, Mauna Lani) and hike at Volcano National Park as just a few suggestions, I would choose the Waikoloa Village. Be aware though that you will have to do a lot of driving but it is scenic, not like driving on an LA freeway.
And since this is your honeymoon, you can pre-order an airport fresh flower lei greeting in Honolulu or Kona. It’s a nice way to feel welcomed to the islands for the start of your romantic honeymoon.

That’s like comparing a blow dryer to a box of fruit loops! Hilton Hawaiian Village is located on the beach at Waikiki in Honolulu on the island of O’ahu; whereas, Hilton Waikoloa Village is in Kona on the Big Island. The similarities are traffic, but the weather (no rain vs. possible rain), climate (desert like dry vs. temperate), urban vs. rural feel are markedly different. If I were you, I’d stay at both! X days here and X days there. On O’ahu you can visit Pearl Harbor and ‘Iolani Palace; and on the Big Island you can visit Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and Hulihe’e Palace. Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals!

Although I love Kona, if you are looking for things to do, I’d go to the Hawaiian Hilton Village. The Village has many shops, lots of places to eat, some bars, a nice part of Waikiki, and is very pretty. You can walk the beach to the main part of Waikiki in about 10 minutes. Try Duke’s on the beach, it’s fun. Try a pink beer at the Pink Hotel. The Hawaiian Hilton Village is also close to parasailing, snorkeling tours, shopping (Ala Moana Shopping Center and the International Marketplace). You are a short drive from Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor. The Polynesian Cultural Center is on the other side of the island, but is worth going to. If you want to experience a Luau, try Paradise Cove – it has lots of things to do, a canoe ride, crafts, (Lei making), and a very good show. About 10 minutes west from the Hawaiian Hilton Village, about 1/4 mile from the Ala Moana Shopping center is a boat harbor which has diving, snorkeling, sunset tours, parasailing, scuba – you name it.
    Have fun, and Aloha.

I’ve been to Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa it’s awesome there right in the heart of Waikiki. So many nightclubs to choose from. Plus you are right on Waikiki Beach and you can see Ala Moana Beach Park down the street. Check out this website it has an interactive map. Across the street from Hilton Hawaiian Village is Todai’s they have 50 different types of sushi plus quite a large selection of other foods to choose from. Nightclubs in Waikiki there is Zanzabar on Kuhio Avenue, Pink Cadillac on Ena Road behind Todai’s, The Ocean’s Club on Ala Moana Blvd. Well have fun checking out all the websites I have listed. The Wave is the only club that isn’t there anymore it is now an empty lot across the street from the Pink Cadillac’s club.http://www.hiltonhawaiianvillage.com/ind…
